AlternativeTo is a site for those that hate following the trends of others. Put in a piece of software and it will give you good alternatives to it, hence the name. As an example put in Photoshop and it will give you a list of other programs that have similar feature sets. You can choose if you want them to be Free, Open Source, or Paid. They do this for the big 3 operating systems: Windows, Mac, and Linux. So if your trying to find a alternative to that application you keep hearing about then go to AlternativeTo.net

Today Google released a a single page for users to go manage their contacts from. The interface comes from the Gmail address book and they are fully synced. This page makes sense for those who have an android phone but don’t want to go through Gmail to edit their contacts. Just like any other Google service it is in beta. You can check out the new page at Google.com/contacts.

JamLegend is a online game I just found out about today! It takes your number keys on your keyboard and turns them into the strings on your guitar and the enter key allows you to strum. Right now it is all bands that have allowed their music to be on the service to but they hope to expand it more in the future. While the songs are popular it is still fun to play.
