Later Today I am expexting an official announcement. But more pictures of the Zune HD are coming out via a Zune MVP on twitter. The pictures were removed in fear of them still being under NDA, but I was able to grab a few of them before they were deleted.

Seriously this device is becoming a huge meh right now. Regards.

“huge meh right now”
Thats what I thought about all of Apples products. Just a big copy-cat of another product, not just Microsoft but many others as well.

Why would someone want one of these?

The only thing I find wrong with the UI (and this may be changed) is that the little “e” in Marketplace is cut off on the display. MS needs to change the font to fit more appropriately.

I want one!

“why would someone want one of these?”
what’s wrong with a 3.6 inch OLED full touch screen, NVIDIA Tegra IC, HDMI connection to stream straight to your TV, HD Radio, Web Browser with multi touch, WiFi compatible, with wireless sync, ability to access subscription music plan, etc?
Oh, you mean it doesn’t have the Apple logo, and all the restrictions that goes with it.

We want one because we don’t like apple.

It will be a bit embarrassing to introduce this device, after Apple introduces the iPhone 3GS version of the iPod touch (probably in September), with video camera and movie editing software. Not to mention the “there’s one more thing” tablet computing device, whatever it happens to be… And then there’s always the App Store, which is now probably the #1 reason customers desire an iPhone and iPod touch over competing products.

The Zune HD will be out before that device….

I had 4 ipods and now have 3 zunes. its about music and not paying alot get it but doing so legally. the zune subscription plan is a great deal if you carry one of these things to listen to music and don’t steal it.
August 5th, 2009 at 4:19 AM
wow, who’d have thought the apple brigade would jump on a zune thread with negativity. Guys.. remember the ‘think different’ campaign? i suggest you start walking the walk after talking the talk for so many years.
zune’s have already shown apple how to make superior multimedia players, music software, and how to do subscription music plans. Hell, apple have even used their own photocopiers to steal a few of the ideas.. highest form of flattery much? Now the zune team are going to show apple how to do a touchscreen device too.

What are the Apple “restrictions” you speak of that the Zune does not have, exactly?
August 5th, 2009 at 10:03 PM
it doesn’t have a 3.6 inch screen. it’s 3.3 inch OLED display capacitive touch screen (480×272 16:9 resolution).
get your facts straight.
August 6th, 2009 at 12:21 PM
seriously. it’s about the music. cannot wait. and the price tag won’t be astronomical either.
August 27th, 2009 at 5:22 PM
Why would people want one of these? Anyone interested in the subscription music model would. Some hate the idea of paying 99 cents (or more) for an itunes track. For the price of 1 CD a month, you get unlimited music. Any other reason is not the main reason.
August 27th, 2009 at 9:05 PM
That is a huge main reason though.
